Energy Policies

As we work to make our buildings energy efficient and reduce our energy costs (and carbon emissions) in the present, we need to safeguard future interventions by embedding these goals in policies that move us in this same direction.  For example, if we insulate our building to make it more energy efficient and install a low carbon heat source to reduce carbon emissions, and then we build a new property next to the original building with no insulation and a gas boiler, we have potentially undermined the good work we just undertook to reduce emissions at the first property!

Here’s where policies come in: they define our values and help us keep to those values when future decisions are made. This document highlights key policies and links you to examples and templates for you to use in your own organisation.
