The Procurement Act 2023

This legislation, enacted Feb 2025, was designed to embed a real opportunity to change the landscape in Wales so that the £8 billion spent by public bodies is harnessed to achieve the broadest possible benefit to our local communities.

Instead of a bureaucratic, inefficient backroom task, the Procurement Act 2023, was developed to be an enabler of change, with trust (instead of control) at the heart of the interactions between buyers and suppliers.
