Wales Festival of Innovation 2018
In January, China closed its doors to millions of tonnes of the World’s plastic waste. Hearing this, a local community volunteer led charity called Pentrebane Zone, took to action. They’ve formed a coalition with Pedal Emporium and Renew, to develop the precious plastics project.
This is a small scale recycling project, that creates snazzy, practical products, whilst cutting waste and emissions from transport, and it has become a global movement! They’ve already secured initial funding from Viridor fund and have a workshop space at Pentrebane community centre.
They’ll be taking their first prototype, a pedal powered plastic shredder, to the Festival of Innovation this Saturday at Cardiff Bay.
