Gary Brown – Caia Park Partnership

I’m Gary Brown, Enterprising Solutions Coordinator for Wrexham. I work with a range of social enterprises in Wrexham, including Caia Park Partnership and Brymbo Heritage Trust, supporting their growth, direction, management, governance, strategic planning, business planning and fundraising.

Caia Park Partnership was established over twenty years ago and has become one of Wales’ most successful community development organisation. It runs a number of community buildings and delivers a range of services that meet the needs of residents across the age spectrum from a childcare Day nursery, to youth work, support for those returning to work, providing tenancy support and support for wellbeing, and providing day services and meals on wheels to older people. The Partnership operates a mixed economy of grants, contracts and direct earnings, and places considerable emphasis on working sustainably.

Brymbo Heritage Trust is relatively new, taking the mantle from Brymbo Heritage Group to lead the development of a vibrant visitor attraction and learning centre at the site of the former Brymbo Steelworks.
