Description & History

The Trust was established in 2005 to assist the local community in economic, cultural, environmental and social regeneration, and while times have changed, the problems identified back then still exist today. CADDT worked with the local community for a few years but for a number of reasons it became dormant for a while.

In 2011 the Trust re-emerged in a new, vibrant format and now works closely with the Local Authority, Valleys 2 Coast, Cornelly Community Council, Local schools, churches, Communities 4 Work, Jobcentre Plus and the general public to bring about change within the local area.

Our aims are still the same, but the manner of achieving them has changed.  Nowadays the focus is on income generation and long term sustainability, which is managed through various social enterprises that have been created.  Not only do they provide employment and work placements for local people and a small income for CADDT, but they also offer an invaluable low cost service to residents of Bridgend County Borough and beyond.
